Choosing the right Flight School

Highlights of Captain Stavros Anastasiadis, Head of Training and Flight Examiner of Horizon Aviation Academy :

With over 40 years of experience as an Air Force pilot, civilian pilot, Flight Instructor, Flight Instructor’s Instructor, Flight Examiner, with a total of 23,000 hrs flight time, consisting of 4,800 Air Force hrs, 17,950 civilian hrs and 250 sea plane hrs, is considered as one of the best Flight Instructors in Greece.

Exemplified solid teaching and instructional abilities in a highly demanding Air Force and commercial environment, through execution of syllabus design, management, and revision for entry level pilots, while providing effectual training courses PPL, ATPL (Air Transport Pilot Licence), MCC, APS-MCC, supervision and assessment in many Flight Training Organizations (FTOs/ATOs) according to Part FCL/EASA regulations.

Flight Safety

HAA’s main goal is to provide Professional Training according to Part FCL/EASA regulations of flight safety and standards of maintenance.

Training Experience


Horizon Aviation Academy EL ATO 134 powered by Olympus Aviation, is an Approved by HCAA Training Organization, in Thessaloniki/Greece, under the supervision of EASA. Horizon Aviation Academy is established by Professional pilots from the Air Force and Civil Aviation industry with thousands flying hours and great experience in training process. Ground Instructors have proven specialized skills and long time experience in
aviation.



Excellent Weather

The excellent weather conditions in Alexandroupolis Airport (sea level) enable us to deliver uninterrupted training all year long, without wasting precious time and money.
In summer, high temperatures are usually between 27 and 33 degrees Celsius, although they sometimes climb higher.
In the fall and winter months, nights are significantly cooler, and normal daytime high temperatures are between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius.

More than 50 airports (International Build Up)

For advanced training student pilots and Hour Builders have the opportunity to visit and be trained in more than 50 airports and airfields around the Greek mainland and islands (eg. Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Kos, Zakynthos, Skiathos, Mytilini).

During Hour Building (HB) time, students have the option to commence international Training flights in European countries (eg. Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Cyprus) with our Flight Instructors*, on VFR and IFR procedures (SID, STAR, VOR/DME/ILS/PBN/Radar Vectoring) and get great experience before entering to CPL/SE-ME/IR/PBN/AUPRT/MCC Training.

*FIs fees are free of charge

In only 14 months

In Horizon Aviation Academy the average time required to complete Zero to ATPL course is 14 to 18 months, including Exams.

Hospitality

At Horizon Aviation Academy you will be personally guided through each stage of your training program, in a hospitable environment from the first introductory flight to all the way through to the day you receive your completion Certificate on relative licence.
