Training Program Description

Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) is the highest level of pilot aircraft licence, the most preferred EASA licence, enabling cadet pilots fulfil their dream for an international career.

Horizon Aviation Academy has developed a thorough Integrated pilot Training program to bring the students up to proficiency so that they can operate as co-pilots on single and/or multi-engine airlines in commercial Air transport and continue their career in Aviation.

Integrated training course is a full-time course, designed to train ab-initio students from zero up to the ATP frozen and to obtain CPL/ IR/ ME/ MCC, advanced UPRT, PBN and ATP Theory credit.


Pre -Entry Requirements

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Sufficient knowledge of English language
  • Hold EASA Medical Certificate Class I
  • Successful completion of Pre-Entry Assessment (English, Maths & Physics) Tests

Course Duration

The minimum duration of ATPL Integrated course is 14 to 18 months (Theory, Flight Training, Exam sittings).

ATPL Integrated course commences twice a year, in October and February.

Theoretical Training

ATPL Theoretical Training (Ground school) consists of 13 subjects and includes approximately 750 hrs of classroom training, inter-active video training, homework assignments, sample Exams, pre-Assessment Tests and Progress Tests. The duration of the training is 8 months. The student will complete ATPL Theoretical Training after passing Progress tests with a grade equal or higher than 80%.

Flight Training

ATPL Flight training comprises six training phases, including at least 208 hrs, 134 hrs of them are conducted on Single Engine Piston aircraft (SEP/IR), 13 hrs on Multi Engine Piston aircraft (ME/IR) and 61 hrs on FNPT II Flight Simulator (F/S), including 20 hrs MCC F/S for Multi Crew Cooperation Course. After ATPL course completion, AUPRT course is provided on SEP with 3 hrs duration and PBN with 4 hrs duration.

After graduation, students may follow Air Line Preparation Program (APP) 18 hrs, which prepares them for ‘Pilot Selection assessment’ and general SOPs for Airline Companies. Graduates have also the option to continue their training with Type rating on A-320 or B-737 NG or 40 hrs F/S A320 MCC and AP.

The duration of flight training is approximately 5 months and commences after the completion of theoretical knowledge course.

Course Cost

The policy of Horizon Aviation Academy regarding Theoretical and Flight Training payments is based on a 14th month timeline. The student is required to have a positive balance at all times during training.
