Modular ATPL – from PPL to ATPL frozen

The ATPL Modular course is designed to train the holder of a Private Pilot License (PPL) with at least 100 hrs as a Pilot in Command (PIC) up to ATPL frozen and to obtain CPL/IR/MEP with ATPL theory credit.

Pre-Entry Requirements

  • Private Pilot License (PPL) holder,
  • 100 hrs as PIC, including at least 50 hrs cross- country,
  • One 300 NM Cross Country trip with two stops at different aerodromes,
  • Holder of a valid EASA Medical Certificate class 1.

Course Duration

The student has the choice of attending the (R.C.) Residential ATPL ground school that runs on September, January and May in rotation, or (D.L.) Distance learning ATPL ground school that can commence at any time during the year. Under normal circumstances the flight training begins simultaneously with the ATPL ground school. However, the student has the choice to begin the flight training at a later time. The duration of flight Training ranges from 1,5 to 2 months ( 6-8 weeks).

Theoretical Training

The ATPL Theoretical knowledge course comprises 13 subjects and includes inter-active video training, presentations, progress tests and sample exams. Trainee has the choice to follow the Residential Course (R.C.) of 650 hrs full class or the Distance Learning (D.L. self-study).
In case of D.L. student has to attend 65 hrs. The minimum duration of D.L. course is 3 months and can commence at any time during the year.
In case of R.C. student can join in on September or January or May (8 months rotation class).

Flight Training

Flight Training course comprises a total of 76 hrs, of those 25 hrs are performed on single engine (SEP), 11 hrs on multi engine (MEP) and 40 hrs on FNPT II F/S.
At the end of the flight training the student optionally may follow the MCC course of 20 hrs or 40 hrs F/S A320 MCC and APS.

Course Structure

Multi Engine Piston - Initial (MEP)

MEP course comprises of 6 hrs of flight on Multi Engine Piston Airplanes (MEP) and its aim is to train the student to operate Multi Engine Airplanes according to visual flight Rules (VFR). The MEP course is completed in 1 week.

Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

CPL course comprises of a total of 25 hrs on single engine airplanes The student that completes the CPL course, along with the MEP, IR/SE-me and ATPL theory credit, can operate as co-pilot on Multi pilot, Multi Engine airplanes in Commercial Air Transportation. The CPL course is completed in 1 week. In the case of combination CPL/ME lasts 2 weeks.

Instrument Rating (IR/SE-ME)

IR/SE and ME course’s aim is to train the student to operate Single and Multi-Engine airplanes according to Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). The course comprises of a total of 60 hrs.

Finally the qualified CPL/IR/ME licensed professional pilot with ATPL Theory and MCC course(optional course) valid, will be instructed by Airliner’s active pilots and attend seminars – sit on tests for “Olympus ATPL Career Program” while being supervised by Air Line Crew Flights Observer.

Course Cost

The policy of Olympus Aviation regarding Theoretical and Flight Training payments is based on a 12 month timeline. The student is required to have a positive balance at all times during training.

  • CPL/ME : 15 hrs (SEP) + 10 hrs (IR) + 6 hrs (ME)
  • IR /ME : 40 hrs FNPT II + 5 hrs (ME)
  • Residential Course or Distance Learning

  • HCAA examiner fees
  • HCAA issuance of license
  • 3 hrs Skill test (ME)
  • ICAO Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
